Empowering Lives: Our Vibrant Community

At Afrikan Wear Design, our core mission revolves around uplifting the living standards of our community members by providing training in handcraft skills. Our goal is to foster financial independence, enabling individuals to sustain their needs and build a brighter future.

From Women's Empowerment to Community-wide Impact

While our journey began with a focus on empowering women in challenging family situations, it evolved into a larger community project. The realization that some mothers’ adult sons were struggling to find employment or lacked the means to acquire new skills prompted a pivotal shift. Afrikan Wear Design transformed into a community-driven initiative addressing unemployment challenges for all its members.

For those with limited skills or none at all, navigating daily financial challenges can seem like a mountainous task. It was precisely in response to these struggles that African Wear Design, initially known as the Amkeni Women Group, was born.

500+ Stories of Transformation

Over the years, our reach has extended to over 500 community members, particularly in the Maasai community and other minority groups. We’ve witnessed remarkable transformations, not just in skill development but in the lives of individuals who have found a path to financial stability and independence.
